Race St. in downtown Urbana still closed

The existing Race Street Bridge over the Boneyard Creek will be demolished and replaced with a new bridge as part of the Boneyard Creek Improvements Project. The City’s Contractor, O’Neil Bros., is projecting that the Race Street bridge demolition will start on March 11, 2013 weather permitting. The bridge demolition and construction activities will result in Race Street from the north side of Griggs to the railroad tracks being closed completely to traffic for a period up to August 19, 2013.
